Flange Plunger Valves
The U41S flanged plunger valve is composed of components such as the valve body, valve cover, valve stem, plunger, orifice frame, sealing ring, and handwheel (as shown in the figure). When the handwheel is rotated, the valve stem drives the plunger to move up and down within the orifice frame, completing the opening and closing functions of the valve. In the valve, an interference fit is employed between the plunger and the sealing ring. By adjusting the flange bolts on the gland, the lateral force generated by the compression of the sealing ring forms a seal with the inner bore surface of the valve body and the outer circumference of the plunger, ensuring the valve’s sealing performance and eliminating internal leakage. Additionally, the valve requires low opening torque, enabling rapid opening and closing. Since the sealing ring is made of a non-toxic new sealing material with high resilience and wear resistance, it maintains elasticity even under prolonged exposure to high temperatures and pressures, ensuring reliable and durable sealing performance.
Working Principle:
The valve is driven by a handwheel or actuator, which moves the valve stem to vertically lift or lower the plunger. When the plunger descends to its lowest position, its finely ground outer surface tightly adheres to the high-elasticity sealing ring embedded in the valve body, forming an annular contact seal that effectively blocks the flow of the medium. During opening, the plunger rises and disengages from the sealing ring, allowing the medium to flow through. The sealing force is not entirely dependent on the medium pressure but is achieved through the axial compression force of the valve stem, making it a forced seal. Consequently, the sealing performance remains unaffected by pressure fluctuations.
