Nicke-based alloys-R30188
Haynes 188 (UNS R30188 / W.Nr. 2.4683) is a cobalt-nickel-chromium-tungsten alloy that com- bines excellent high-temperature strength with very good resistance to oxidizing environ- ments up to 1095ºC
Haynes 188 (UNS R30188 / W.Nr. 2.4683) is a cobalt-based superalloy containing nickel, chromium, tungsten, and lanthanum. It is specially developed for extreme high-temperature applications where excellent mechanical strength, oxidation resistance, and hot corrosion resistance are required.
This advanced cobalt-nickel-chromium-tungsten alloy maintains outstanding tensile strength and creep resistance at elevated temperatures up to approximately 1100°C. It also provides excellent resistance to oxidizing environments up to 1095°C during long-term exposure, along with superior protection against sulfate deposit hot corrosion.
With a combination of high-temperature performance, corrosion resistance, and good fabrication characteristics, Haynes 188 is widely used in aerospace, gas turbine, heat treatment equipment, and other demanding industrial applications.
Key Features of Haynes 188 Alloy
Exceptional High-Temperature Strength
Haynes 188 maintains excellent tensile strength and creep resistance under extreme temperature conditions. Its stable mechanical performance at temperatures up to 1100°C makes it suitable for components exposed to continuous thermal stress and high-temperature environments.
Excellent Oxidation and Hot Corrosion Resistance
Thanks to its high chromium content and lanthanum addition, Haynes 188 demonstrates outstanding resistance to oxidation and aggressive hot corrosion environments.
The alloy performs particularly well against sulfate deposit hot corrosion, making it a reliable material choice for gas turbine components and other high-temperature applications where long-term durability is critical.
Good Fabrication Performance
Despite its high-temperature strength, Haynes 188 maintains good manufacturability compared with many other superalloys.
The alloy can be formed and welded using standard processing methods suitable for high-performance alloys, providing flexibility for complex component manufacturing.
