Product Description
OP-10 typically refers to octylphenol ethoxylate, a nonionic surfactant containing approximately 10 ethylene oxide (EO) addition units. Its molecule consists of a lipophilic octylphenyl group and a hydrophilic polyoxyethylene chain, and it exhibits excellent wetting, emulsifying, dispersing, solubilizing, and cleaning properties. The product is typically a colorless to pale yellow viscous liquid with excellent water solubility. OP-10 exhibits good adaptability to water quality and electrolytes and can be blended with various anionic, cationic, and other nonionic surfactants. It is widely used in textile printing and dyeing, detergents, personal care products, metal processing, pesticide adjuvants, emulsifiers, and industrial cleaning, among other fields, and can serve as a wetting agent, emulsifier, dispersant, and washing aid.
Safety Handling Precautions
OP-10 is a nonionic surfactant; specific health hazards depend on the product’s composition, concentration, and impurity levels, and should be determined based on the actual product’s SDS. Avoid prolonged or excessive contact with skin and eyes during handling; it is recommended to wear protective gloves and safety goggles. In case of eye contact, immediately rinse thoroughly with plenty of water; wash affected skin promptly after contact. Ensure adequate ventilation in the handling and filling areas to prevent the generation of excessive mist or aerosols. Store the product in a sealed container in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area, away from high temperatures and direct sunlight, and prevent damage to the packaging as well as the ingress of moisture or foreign matter. Alkylphenol polyoxyethylene ether products with different EO addition numbers may exhibit differences in physical properties such as freezing point and cloud point; storage temperatures should be followed according to the specific product technical data. During transportation, use clean, sealed containers to avoid exposure to rain, leakage, and transport with incompatible substances. Specific transportation classifications are subject to the product SDS and applicable regulations.
